College Football 2006 Bowl Picks by Kvapster, who through this year is 53-28 (65.4%) ATS

Here are my picks for the Bowl Games that meet my criteria. Plus if the spread changes to +4 I will add Nevada Reno +4 against Miami FL in the MPC COMPUTERS BOWL on Dec 31. For what ever reason my new bookie )bodog.com has scratched the Nebraska Auburn game, where I really liked Nebraska +3. I'll add them if they become available.

College Football Week 14 Wrap up 2-3 ATS

The round robin was a bust, I should have known better, not the best bet in the world, but when I made it, I figured what the heck I'm on a roll. Should have known better though. That means for the year I'm now 53-28 (65.45%).

Total of 5 picks, and one four team (3 way round robin). Plus there are two other games that I thinks are possible if the lines change. Must mean that I'm getting cocky if I'm betting a round robin.

Week 12 wrap up 8 wins 4 losses against the spread

My worse fear of having a horrible week, after sitting on the sidelines for 5 weeks wasn't a problem. I never kept track of my system for those weeks off, since I didn't have a place to bet, I figured why bother. Maybe my system would have hit a rough patch then. This week I was 8-4 ATS. Up another $176.08, meaning that for the year I am now standing at $1896.08, up YTD $896.08. My record is 40-20 ATS (66.67). I'm going to have to get used to Bodog's payout system. I was used to nice whole numbers. Here is what happened.

132 Minnesota -3 Won $52.38
154 Baylor 21 Loss $55
187 Maryland 8 Loss $55
129 Missouri -13.5 Loss $55

Kvapster's college football picks week 12 - I'm Back!!!!

After having my account frozen due to our Presidents concern about my ability to place a bet online, I now have a new account and I'm up and running again. I now have an account with Bodog, and am using their lines. I probably shouldn't start up again, after this long lay off, but this has been a special season for me, and I can't help myself. I have 12 picks for this week, and a bunch of close ones that I might add later on. Here are this weeks so far.

132 Minnesota -3

College football picks Week 6 wrap up 3-4 ATS

Well it finally happened, I had a losing week. I only hope that this is not the begining of a streak. Obviously, the laws of gravity apply to gambling also. Five straight winning weeks is not normal, it sure was fun while it lasted, and it came to the time that I almost wanted to believe that it could/would continue, alas it didn't. The pot is down for the week $70, it now stands at $1720, for a gain of $720 form the original deposit of $1000. That's 32-16 (66.67%) ATS Here are the results.

[201] NEVADA +14

Week 5 wrap up = 5-2 (71.4%) ATS, YTD now 29-12 (70.7%) ATS

Another week up another couple of bucks, $140 for the week. My bank is now at $1790, that's up $790 from the initial $1000 deposit. I have not had a losing week yet, however I do know that it gets harder and harder each week as the season progresses. Percentage wise this has got to be my best year ever. If I stick to the system, and don't do anything stupid, like increasing the size of my bets, I should be OK. Posting to the blogging world does make it more fun, that is if any one out there is even reading my posts. I'm keeping my bragging down to a minimum, because the season is only half way through, and this streak could just as easily turn the other way. Don't be afraid to comment.

Kvapsters College football picks - Week 5

Here are this weeks, Toledo might be a stretch due to the status of their QB, I also am thinking about Tenn if the line falls to -12.5 or less. So far this year I'm at 24/34 ATS (70.6%), as they say in finance past results are no ......., I got to be careful, I'm starting to think about how am going to spend my winnings after the season is over, normally a sure way to bring upon a loosing streak. Got to quick thinking like that, but the wife sure would like a cleaning service, and I don't blame her.

Kvapsters College picks Week 3 - results

Well, it looks like I've come back to earth. After two unbelievable weeks, I've gotten a dose of reality. Last week I went 3 and 3. For a net loss of -$15. It's possible that the easy picking will be over early this year, or that it just was meant to be. The streak I was on just couldn't last. For the year I still am estatic, with a record of 19 wins and 7 losses ATS (73.1%). The bank is now at $1565, up from an inital $1000.

Just one side note, is there anything worse for a handicapper than overtime? Rarely do I win when one of my games goes into overtime. The dreaded half point came into play in half of the games I played last week, 2 for losses, and one win. The picking has definately gotten harder. Here are the results I had for week 3

STRAIGHT WAGER (WON)
[314] OHIO STATE -29½
STRAIGHT WAGER (WON)
[381] UTAH -20½
STRAIGHT WAGER (WON)
[387] NAVY +1

STRAIGHT WAGER (LOST)
[303] KANSAS +5½
STRAIGHT WAGER (LOST)
[330] MIAMI OHIO -11½
STRAIGHT WAGER (LOST)
[371] LSU +3½

Kvapsters College picks Week 3 - update #1

just added tonight's game, the line moved to Kansas +5½, this now hits my selection criteria. Still a few more on the horizen, we'll see what happens to the lines before tommorows games.

[303] KANSAS +5½

Kvapster's college football picks week 3

I'm a little late this week and it's cost me already. The spreads have closed a bit since the early line, for examble the early line had navy +2.5 against Stanford, which I absolutely loved, by the time I acted it dropped to +1, still good enough to bet, but I would have like the extra point and a half. A few others that I really liked, I now am sitting on the fence, if the lines change again, I will act upon KANSAS, TEMPLE, SOUTH FLORIDA, BOISE STATE, WASHINGTON STATE, FRESNO STATE, and ARIZONA STATE, my procrastination has probably cost me a few picks. The way it is now, these are the five that I am wagering.

* [314] OHIO STATE -29½
* [330] MIAMI OHIO -11½
* [371] LSU +3½
* [381] UTAH -20½
* [387] NAVY +1

College football picks Week 2 wrap up - 80% winners ATS YTD!!

I knew that I couldn't keep up the pace of last week, I normally would be very pleased with picking 5 out of 7 ATS, but I can't help but feel that this was a bit of a let down. Instead of just revelling in the fact I'm way up for the year, I feel that this week was a bust. Pretty goofy huh. after 2 weeks I'm 16/20 (80%) ATS. I guess next week will really be a bust, like most gamblers with more than a couple of years experience, I know a streak like this can't last. One can hope though, The bank is another $140, the total is now $1580, up from the starting $1000. Check back later in the week for my week 3 picks.

Kvapsters College Football picks, Week 2, update #1

I just added another game

Oregon -3. It costs me $60, to win $50

Week 2 Picks

While it will be impossible to beat last weeks results, no sense in not trying, the system works, and like I said, it normally works best in the early to middle part of the season, I also know that things always regress back to the mean. Like all the experts said about the stock market in 2000, and real estate two years ago, "this time it's different". Well, so what, college football is my only vice and if I maintain any sense of money management, this could be a phenomenal season. Then again there is only 13 or so more weeks to go. The line I'm using comes straight from betwwts.com, as of Wednesday 10:30 PM EST. There are three other games on my radar Virginia Tech -12.5, Texas Tech -7, and Oregon -4, I possibly could be adding them if the line changes just a bit. As of now though these are the 6 games that I like. You might not, but that's what makes for a wager. All bets are to win $50/lose $55, and the bank now stands at $1440, up from the $1000 start.

* [105] PITTSBURGH U -8
* [119] AUBURN -20
* [121] MIAMI OHIO +17
* [139] IOWA -19
* [173] MINNESOTA U +8
* [175] GEORGIA -3

College Football Week 1 Wrap Up - Phenomenal 11-2 ATS

If any one can find someone else out on the web who had a better week, let me know. I said that I had a system that works, and here are the results that proof it. Over the years, my system seems to work best early to mid September towards the end of October. More action early on, towares the end of the season there are less anomalies to work with. I guess the rookie betters are busted by that time. Will next week be better? You'll need to come back and check out my picks. Here are the results, if your picks didn't pan out as well, I'm sorry. The bank has grown to $1440.

STRAIGHT WAGERS (WON)

  • [333] MINNESOTA U -15
  • [337] SOUTH CAROLINA -6-120 (B+½)
  • [412] TEXAS –41
  • [356] OHIO STATE –17
  • [364] WEST VIRGINIA –22
  • [358] PENN STATE –17
  • [393] UAB +22
  • [414] LSU -30½
  • [401] USC –8
  • [405] BYU +6½
  • [417] TCU -7

STRAIGHT WAGERS (LOST)

  • [371] LOUISIANA TECH +23½
  • [395] VIRGINIA +3½
I'll be watching tomorrow's Miami/Florida St game, just as a fan, my system doesn't show a power rating point spread imbalance. As a fan I tend to like underdogs, and I've always thought that a Bobby Bowden interview is a hoot. Plus I grew up in Chicago, rooting for Norte Dame against the Hurricanes, the old convicts vs Catholics stuff you know.

week one update #2

I just added another game due to changes in the point spread being offered.

[371] LOUISIANA TECH +23½

Week One Update #1

Off to a good start, already 2-0 against the spread. Wins with South Carolina -6, and Minnesota -15 seem pretty easy in hindsite. Looks like buying the extra 1/2 point for South Carolina was a waste, but of course picking two winners doesn't make a season. Point spread changes not big enough to add to my already posted picks.

Week One

All bets were made on Wednesday evening, I paid to get an extra 1/2 point in the South Carolina game, the line was at -6.5, I bought it down to -6 for an extra $5, something I rarely do. If the lines change enough I might add a few more games, and will repost. Here are my current bets.

Teams Risk Win
[356] OHIO STATE -17 55 50
[358] PENN STATE -17 55 50
[364] WEST VIRGINIA -22 55 50
[393] UAB +22 55 50
[395] VIRGINIA +3½ 55 50
[401] USC -8 55 50
[405] BYU +6½ 55 50
[412] TEXAS -41 55 50
[414] LSU -30½ 55 50
[417] TCU -7 55 50
[333] MINNESOTA U -15 55 50
[337] S. CAROLINA -6-120 (B+½) 60 50
